Third Party Billing

At Chadstone Region Osteopathy, we welcome patients accessing treatment through third-party funding arrangements, including NDIS, TAC, DVA, and WorkCover. To ensure the billing process is efficient and hassle-free for everyone involved, a few requirements must be met before we can invoice your third-party provider directly.
Meeting these requirements helps avoid delays and ensures your appointments and payments are processed correctly. If, for any reason, these requirements haven’t been met before your appointment, you may be asked to pay for your treatment on the day. Where eligible, you can then submit your receipt to your third-party funding provider to seek reimbursement.

NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a scheme of the Australian Government that funds reasonable and necessary supports associated with significant and permanent disability.
Is Osteopathy covered by the NDIS?
Osteopathy is not listed as a separate profession within the NDIS pricing arrangements. Instead, it is funded under broader therapeutic support categories where appropriate. This means funding decisions are based on how the treatment supports your disability-related goals and functional needs, rather than the profession itself.
Self-managed patients
If you self-manage your NDIS funding, you can choose to see our osteopaths directly. You are responsible for paying for your appointments and managing claims through your NDIS budget.
Plan-managed patients
If your funding is plan-managed, you can also access osteopathy at our clinic. We can invoice your plan manager directly for approved services, provided they are funded within your NDIS plan.
Requirements:
- NDIS number.
- Plan dates.
- Available funds (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, yearly).
- Plan manager & approval: Business/ name/ phone number.
- Email to send invoices to.
TAC
The TAC is a Victorian Government-owned organisation whose role is to promote road safety and support those who have been injured on the roads. If you’ve been injured in a road accident, you can be treated by our Osteopaths under the TAC scheme.
Requirements:
- TAC claim number.
- Date of injury.
- Any other terms of approval after the first 90-day period post-accident.
DVA
DVA funds access to services for physical health, and whole-of-person rehabilitation assistance for ex-service members across Australia. You can see an Osteopath for treatment under the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Scheme.
Requirements:
- A Veteran Card – Gold or White covers treatment that is clinically necessary:
- For all conditions, if a patient holds a Gold Card.
- For specific, accepted conditions only, if the patient holds a White Card.
- A valid referral from your GP.
Under DVA treatment cycle arrangements, a referral to an allied health provider will last up to 12 sessions or one year, whichever ends first.
Once a treatment cycle has ended, the patient needs a new referral from their GP before we can provide further treatment. The client can have as many treatment cycles as their GP determines are clinically necessary.
Workcover
Worksafe Victoria acts as the workplace health and safety regulator and the official injury insurer for the state of Victoria. If you are injured at work, our Osteopaths can treat you and bill directly to WorkCover.
Requirements:
- Claim number.
- Injury date.
- Employers name.
- Insurers details (Name, address, email address to send the invoices to, preferably case manager details).
- Written approval for Osteo treatment.
